These are the final ideas groups are working on:
1- Making a concept where employees choose if they want to keep a parking lot or get money (the expenses company would pay for the parking lot). Or people could use the land of the parking lot for urban gardening (such as small green house) instead.
By Carlos Lamuela, TKK
2- Open source database with carbon emissions information of typical house hold items. The data would show the emissions caused by production and use. There would be first average data, and then later, when available data published by manufacturers. The data would be available for everyone.
By Juha Koponen, Netcycler
3- A service on the Internet to request and offer “waste” = raw materials, for example old blankets and sheets
By Maria Laitinen, Ordinare
4- Transportation between different Aalto University schools: For example a service of shared rides in smaller vehicles or hybrid/electric cars. A ride would be customized to the needs of commuters. This could also take the form of a car-sharing club for Aalto students, also for other uses than campus transportation. Hybrid cars could be potentially sponsored by advertising on them. Another possibility would be to develop the biking possibilities between the campuses.
By Laura Honkapirtti, Aalto School of Economics
5- A bike sharing system for the city of Helsinki, getting inspired from previous experiments in other cities (Amsterdam, Copenhagen, …). How to improve the parking system and how to make the bike the best option for citizens?
By Emilia Koivunen

We are excited to post your first ideas of low-carbon innovations. Now we invite you to comment on the ideas and help us choose which ones to develop further during the camp. Also we are still taking more sign ups for the camp, so if you are thinking of it, just hurry up!
We are very happy to notice, that many of you are eager to come develop your own idea (some of which you are already working on in your company) with a group of excited students and professionals. We know that there are many of you who are waiting until the last day to sign up (April 20th), but just don’t forget to do it. Even if the sun is shining bright out there and the birds are singing (and mobile phones ringing).
Can’t wait to innovate with you!
